Field archery involves shooting at targets of varying and often unmarked distances, typically in woodland and rough terrain. As well as being a sport in its own right, it can be used to improve the techniques and abilities required for bowhunting in a realistic outdoor setting.
Similar to golf, a field archery course comprises a number of targets set out at varying distances in the woods, often on a hillside. You will usually walk around in groups of four shooting each target.
